What Is CBD?

DISTILLATES:  Distillation is the process of purifying a liquid and/or extracting individual essential elements for specialized purposes.  Distillation has been around for a long time, but is a fairly new concept within the Cannabis industry.  It involves a highly complex process, very expensive equipment and requires a highly trained staff with experience.  The process basically consists of hemp plant matter being broken down and placed in a closed loop extraction system, where highly pressurized CO2 is used to extract cannabinoids, terpenes and other vital plant materials.  The end product is a wet clay-like substance called crude.  The crude is then winterized and filtered to remove any impurities and then distilled.  The distillation process requires industrial sized machines that use different temperatures and chambers to filter out individual cannabinoids like CBD. Distillate is the precursor to Isolate Powder and contains very high amounts of concentrated CBD as well as other cannabinoids, terpenes and various materials naturally occurring in Hemp.  This is a very simplified version of a very complex process.

Distillates are popular as they closely mimic Mother Nature by containing most of the beneficial compounds naturally occurring in Hemp.  Distillates can be used for vaping, tinctures, cooking, or balms.  They have a more organic and earthy taste when used in cooking and tinctures vs Isolate Powder.  If you like to vape your distillate you can also add your favorite all natural terpenes to customize the strain profile or mix it with other cannabinoids.  CBD Distillates that have a purity greater than >60% will crystalize at room temperature.  Our CBD distillates will arrive in a solid state.  To infuse or formulate our CBD Distillate with other oils heat to 65-68 degrees Celsius and stir constantly for 15-30 minutes or longer.  The longer you stir and mix, the better the infusion.  Keep in mind CBD is oil based and oil and water don't mix well.  Oils can and will separate over time.

Full Spectrum Distillate - this is as close as you can get to how Mother Nature makes it, while still maintaining high quality, purity and concentration.  It is 80-85% Pure CBD and contains LESS THAN <0.3% THC as required by Federal Law.  It also contains other cannabinoids, terpenes and other trace materials naturally occurring in Hemp.

Broad Spectrum Distillate - this is very similar to our Full Spectrum distillate but is THC FREE and is 90-95% pure CBD.  It also contains other cannabinoids, terpenes and other trace materials naturally occurring in Hemp.  Broad Spectrum products are slightly more expensive due to the additional process needed to remove ALL the THC  from the Distillate.

Isolate Powder: is CBD in its most pure and concentrated form. Our Isolate Powder is 99% pure CBD.  It contains no other cannabinoids, terpenes and only 0.5% trace materials naturally occurring Hemp.  It is odorless and tasteless.  Isolate is popular for direct consumption, making highly concentrated Tinctures, foods, beverages and creams.  The easiest way to use isolate powder is to just place it directly under your tongue for 1-2 minutes and let it dissolve and swallow the remainder.  It is very popular to make tinctures with because of its potency and being tasteless/odorless.
